Help others learn the Bible
It's my belief that people in the world generally believe that religion is a good thing.
Jesus made it clear that He does not believe this.
It was the religious leaders of His day that gave Him the most trouble and in fact, were instrumental in getting Him crucified.
Religion always includes some form of trying to do works to "be good enough to go to heaven" or "earn points" with God and get into heaven.
Jesus and his disciples taught that issues that became Christianity were based entirely on faith. Eph 2:8-9
"8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." NIV
Once that wonderful scripture gets deep in a person's spirit, it does several things:
1. Relieves them of guilt and pressure from religion.
2. Helps them enter into a deeper faith.
3. Leads to an interest in studying the Bible.
